The Best Country Songs of 2025 for Line Dancing at New Boots Line Dancing

Hey y’all its Jess at New Boots Line Dancer. One of the fun facts about me is that the reason I moved to Nashville 2 decades ago is for my love of country music. I actually majored in Music Business at Belmont University, and it was the gateway to me getting into line dance. I’m excited about the new wave of country artists coming through Nashville so wanted to share some of my favorites with you.

Whether you’re a seasoned line dancer or a pair of left feet ready to learn, the right song can make all the difference on the line dancing floor. 2025 has delivered a fresh wave of country hits that are fun, rhythmic, and perfect for two-steps, shuffles, grapevines, and more. At New Boots Line Dancing, we’ve curated the year’s top tracks that performers, DJs, and line dancers alike can’t get enough of from chart-topping anthems to crowd-favorite beat-makers.

In this guide, you’ll find songs that bring energy, groove, storytelling, and that irresistible danceable beat that keeps our boots moving. Let’s dive in!

1. “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey

One of 2025’s most pervasive country hits, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” deserves its spot at the top of this list. It spent an extraordinary amount of time on the country charts  second-longest running at #1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs showing just how much listeners and dancers alike were hooked all year long. We have lost count of how many times we have played this song during our lessons at our studio (let’s just say it’s a LOT!).

Why It’s Great for Line Dancing

  • Steady, upbeat tempo ideal for classic two-step and bootstrap routines

  • Familiar chorus and lyrics that get the crowd singing along

  • Perfect for social dance nights, especially as a fun group dance starter

This track is basically THE LINE DANCE LOTTERY WINNER for 2025  the kind that brings both casual dancers and experienced crews to the dance floor.

2. “High Road” by Koe Wetzel & Jessie Murph

This one is moody- Whenever this song comes out, I want to drive with my windows rolled down at night down a long “high road”. A major radio and streaming standout, “High Road” dominated the airwaves and became one of the most played country songs of the year. It’s gritty, energetic, and has just the right beat for a lively sequence.

Why It Works

  • Raw, driving rhythm that’s great for faster footwork

  • A blend of traditional country grit and contemporary energy

  • Encourages joyful, high-energy movement

Line dancers will love how the chorus lifts the tempo and keeps everyone engaged from start to finish.

3.  “Cowgirl”  Parmalee

It doesn’t get any more “line dance- worthy” than this song. This band has been around forever! So glad to see them still making great music. Released early in 2025, “Cowgirl” quickly made waves on country radio and became an anthem for weekend dance nights. You can’t walk down Broadway in Nashville without hearing this song blasting through the speakers at the bars downtown.

Line Dance Appeal

  • 3-minute punchy track with toe-tapping beats

  • Perfect for more playful, upbeat routines

  • A story-driven lyric that gets dancers in the mood to move and connect

This song’s mix of party energy and classic country instrumentation makes it ideal for group line dancing.

4.  “I Wish You Would”  MacKenzie Carpenter ft. Midland

This song transports me to a vintage dive bar in the desert out west. I’ve loved Midland for years- they have such a fun cool style and vibe. I’m so glad to see them having some radio success this year. This song is a 2025 release that started charting thanks to its catchy melody and classic country sound.

What Makes It Danceable

  • Short and punchy structure  perfect for a setlist rotation

  • Lively backing band elements that suggest steps and rhythm

  • A subtle throwback feel with modern polish

Even if it’s not a super high-tempo two-step, this one is excellent for beginner or mid-tempo line dances.

5. “Trailblazer” Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert & Lainey Wilson

I remember watching this song performed for the first time on the ACM Awards and thought it was so special seeing the different generations of women coming together. This collaborative anthem by major country icons hits the sweet spot between storytelling and anthemic energy  perfect for adding variety to your dance night. Reba is a legend, so anything she sings we are a fan of (also feel free to put on “Fancy” after this one for another great line dance track).

Why It’s Special

  • They performed it live together the first time anyone heard it on the ACM Awards.

  • Empowering rhythms and female-forward storytelling

  • A vibe that works well for group line dances with big moves

  • Great for themed nights celebrating legends and community

This song isn’t just music  it’s an experience that dancers love singing along to while stomping the floor.

6. “Somewhere Over Laredo”  Lainey Wilson

Lainey Wilson continued her country domination in 2025 with this evocative single. She has such an authentic voice that really hits home.

Perfect Line Dance Features

  • Smooth, steady tempo ideal for intermediate line dances

  • Artistic country storytelling that keeps dancers invested

  • Lainey Wilson’s distinct voice adds personality to any setlist

It’s the kind of song that feels like a story unfolding  and we all know that great storytelling makes great dance energy.

7. “6 Months Later”  Megan Moroney

A standout country single that blended classic country themes with contemporary vibes in 2025.

Dance Floor Notes

  • Mid-tempo groove that pairs well with choreographed steps

  • A catchy chorus that’s easy to remember

  • Emotional energy that turns a simple line dance into an event

Add this one to your playlist for nights when you want dancers to feel the music and the movement.

Bonus Favorites & Line Dance Tracks

Here are a few runner-ups (based on 2025 chart presence and dance-floor appeal):

  • “Happen to Me”  Russell Dickerson  upbeat, bar-friendly track that pairs great with basic two-step patterns.

  • “I'm Not Okay”  Jelly Roll a strong rhythmic track that inspires confident steps.

  • “Love Somebody” Morgan Wallen  smoother groove for transitional sets.

While some of these songs might not be classic line dance tunes yet, they’ve shown up repeatedly on country charts and playlists  which means dancers are already moving to them.
